On behalf of the International Commission for Optics (ICO) and the Spanish Optical Society (SEDOPTICA) as host society for the meeting, we have pleasure in inviting you to attend the 23rd Congress of the ICO, to be held in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in August, 2014. The theme of the Congress is “Enlightening the future”.

The technical program is wide-ranging and will capture all aspects of modern optics and photonics. In keeping with the tradition of ICO Congresses, we have also arranged a program of social events based around Compostela and its beautiful old city. Among others, the following topics will be covered:

    Quantum and Nonlinear Optics
    Vision and Bio-Medical Optics
    Optomechanics and optical trapping
    High-energy optics and ultrashort pulses
    Optical Imaging, Processing and Display
    Optical Telecommunications
    Optics for a sustainable world
    Nanotechnology and Optics
    Photonics and Opto-Electronics
    Vision, Colour and Lighting
    Lasers and optical sources
    Optical materials
    Optical metrology and sensors
    Applied Optics and Optical Engineering

We look forward to welcoming delegates from all corners of the globe to Santiago de Compostela in 2014!
